Tajikistan Welcomes Its “National Treasure” Marble Back Home for the First Time, Drawing Praise from the Minister of Industry and National Media Attention
Tajikistan Welcomes the “National Treasure” Marble Back Home for the First Time:
The Minister of Industry Gave Thumbs-Up Repeatedly, While TV Stations Lined Up to Report
At the end of May, a special “guest” arrived at the International Expo Center in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan — TASSO WHITE marble, sourced from the small town of Vanj on the Pamir Plateau.
It was the first time this stone had ever been exhibited in its own homeland.
Crowds gathered around the booth. Under the lights, the white marble revealed a soft, jade-like glow. Many visitors stopped to admire it closely. Some repeatedly touched the surface, while others took countless photos and selfies beside it
“Do you know this stone comes from your own country?”
Standing at the booth, PFM founder Susan asked this question again and again to every visitor who stopped by. Some looked surprised, some could hardly believe it, and others nodded with excitement.
Behind this exhibition was more than just a trade show.
It was a story about “bringing a stone back home,” and also a reflection of a Chinese company’s eleven years of dedication and deep involvement in Tajikistan.
Giving a Thumbs-Up Every Time
According to Susan, TASSO WHITE did not simply register as a regular exhibitor.
The company was personally invited by the Minister of Industry of Tajikistan.
“The Minister invited us to participate in this exhibition,” Susan explained. During the event, the Minister visited the TASSO WHITE booth several times, and every time, he gave a thumbs-up.
“He came over several times, and every single time he raised his thumb,” Susan recalled. “Because what we brought here is a completely new concept — moving beyond simple functional use and elevating stone into an aesthetic experience.”
"Tajikistan’s stone industry has already gone from 0 to 1. Now we hope to help it grow from 1 to N.”
The Minister’s recognition was not just polite praise. TASSO WHITE marble is quarried at an altitude of 3,000 meters on the Pamir Plateau. It took eight years of development and extraction. It is regarded as a luxury stone with properties comparable to world-class white marble.
For many Tajik visitors, seeing it in their own country created a strong sense of pride — the pride of owning a stone that can go global.

Local television stations in Tajikistan came specifically to report on the TASSO WHITE booth. Susan was also invited to speak and introduce the stone’s origin and craftsmanship.
"Many people came just to take photos,” Susan said. The booth remained crowded throughout the exhibition. Even exhibitors from other industries came over.
“Food industry exhibitors even asked if they could become our agent,” she said with a smile. “I told them we are in building materials. But they said, ‘It doesn’t matter, as long as you are here, we trust you.’”
This trust went beyond industry boundaries and language barriers.

For Susan, the meaning of this exhibition went far beyond branding or exposure.
She once wrote:“I feel a quiet sense of pride inside me. It feels like I adopted a child. Now that this child has grown up, I want to bring him back to his hometown.”
TASSO WHITE marble began its journey from Vanj, Tajikistan. From 2019 to 2026, it was shown in nearly ten international exhibitions before returning home for the first time. This was not a business-driven decision. It was driven by belief and long-term commitment.
“There are very few projects in Tajikistan that can truly appreciate or afford this stone,” Susan said. “Even so, I still wanted to bring it back.”
She hopes Tajik people can have something they are proud of.

Tajikistan has rich stone resources, but for a long time the industry stayed at exporting raw blocks. This exhibition introduced a new perspective — from design and processing to finished product presentation.
“Stone is not just material. It can be a carrier of beauty and a national identity,” Susan said.
The attention from the Minister, media coverage, and continuous visitor flow all indicate one thing: Tajikistan is re-evaluating the value of its stone industry.
PFM is one of the companies helping drive this transformation.
This exhibition may not immediately bring large orders. But it achieved something deeper: letting people see that their own stone can become a global brand.
Tajikistan is where TASSO WHITE began. And no matter how far it goes, it will always return.
